“Politics and Art in the 1960s”

This project was inspired by my interest for 1960s art and politics, and how they relate to each other. To produce my final piece I decided to link my research into the 1960s civil rights movement to similar events and movements in the 20th century. My main inspirations for my final outcome were Andy Warhol and the current Black Lives Matter movement, and I linked these together by producing 16 pop art style portraits of 16 unarmed black people who were killed by US police between April 2014 and April 2015.
